Facilitating Cross Border Trade
Namibia is undertaking several measures to facilitate cross border trade amongst
1. One Stop Border Post (OSBP) with neighbouring countries - Botswana, Zambia and Angola.
At the Trans Kalahari/Mamuno Border Post between Namibia and Botswana, processes for operationalisation of the OSBP have been finalised and are awaiting the official launch of the OSBP. Customs clearance procedures are processed at one location for both entry and exit of import/export goods. At the same time, Namibia has established joint technical working groups to negotiate the establishment of a OSBP at Oshikango/Santa Clara border post between Namibia and Angola and at the Katima Mulilo border post between Namibia and Zambia.
The operating hours between Namibia and neighbouring countries have been harmonised and the border posts are operating on a 24-hour basis.
Namibia is committed to facilitating cross-border trade as evidenced in the 2023 Namibia Time Release Study which can be found here: Time Release Study Report | Announcements
