| Summary: Before operating an export abattoir, the applicant must first get approval from the Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS) after pre-approval by the Meat Board of Namibia (MBN). Export of meat products requires registration with the DVS, and abattoir owners must notify the Meat Board early to ensure adequate training for carcass classification. |

| Description: Para 6 states that. " Following pre-approval by MBN, the applicant must obtain approval from the Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS) to operate an export abattoir. The export of meat and meat products is subject to registration with DVS as the National Competent Authority. (Switchboard number: 00264 61 208 7111) Para 9 on Classification states that . The Meat Board of Namibia is responsible for rendering the Classification service at all export abattoirs. The abattoir owner must inform the Meat Board well in advance of a possible date of first slaughter.
