Summary:

1. Only goods specified in a permit may be imported into Namibia.

2. The permit cannot be transferred to or used for the benefit of anyone not named in it.

3. The permit is valid for 12 months from the issue date or a shorter period as specified.

4. Goods requiring an import permit cannot be shipped to Namibia without a valid permit.

5. The permit must be issued without unauthorized amendments; any such changes will invalidate it, and it will be confiscated.

6. The permit does not exempt the importer from complying with other regulations related to importing goods into Namibia.
Description:

1.Only goods of class of the class or kind specified in a permit may be imported in Namibia.

2. The permit shall not in any manner be transferred by the holder there of to any other person and/or used to the benefit of of any person not referred to therein.

3. The permit shall be valid for a period of 12 months calendar months from the date of issue, such shorter period as indicated in a permit.

4. Goods that are subject to import permit requirement when imported into Namibia shall not be shipped unless the importer is in position of an appropriate valid permit issued in terms of Import and Export Control Act, 1994 (Act 30 of 1994)

5. The permit shall be issued without amendment of any kind. If any unauthorised amend appears therein, the permit will be invalid and confiscated by the commissioner. 6. The permit issued shall not absolve an importer from obligations of complying with provisions of regulations related to importation of goods into Namibia.
